Meet Doctor Kate
Dr. Kate Mattax believes integrative, primary care should be available to all. The primary care relationship is a special one, Dr. Kate strives to be a trusted provider to whom you can ask questions, seek support, and know that your whole-person care is being coordinated with respect.
She practices from the following lenses: Health At Every Size, weight inclusive, intuitive eating, anti-racist, and trauma informed.
Dr. Kate received her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University and is completing a 2-year residency at One Connection Healthcare under the mentorship of Dr. Lily Stokely and Dr. Michael Rak. Prior to this, she earned her undergraduate degree in Social Policy and Spanish from Northwestern University (Go ‘Cats!) and spent 3 years working in Healthcare IT. Dr. Mattax enjoys addressing a variety of health concerns. As a Naturopathic Physician she is trained in both conventional and natural medicine and aims to treat the root cause by considering all aspects of a person’s health.
She currently employs multiple treatment modalities, including botanical and pharmaceutical therapies, counseling, and physical medicine modalities including targeted soft-tissue work, trigger point injections, Visceral and Craniosacral Therapy.
Dr. Mattax is certified in Integrative Pelvic Floor Therapy, a specialized form of manual therapy aimed at addressing dysfunction and improving the strength and coordination of the muscles that make up the pelvic floor. This therapy offers numerous benefits for individuals, particularly those who experience issues such as urinary or fecal incontinence, pelvic pain, or pelvic organ prolapse. In Pelvic Floor therapy, patients can expect to receive personalized assessment and treatment plans tailored to their specific needs. Through a combination of targeted exercises, manual techniques, and education, pelvic floor therapy helps individuals understand, support, and care for pelvic floor muscles, leading to improved bladder and bowel function, reduced pain, enhanced sexual health, and increased overall quality of life.
